caprockphotography > An impressive thunderstorm with powerful winds estimated in excess of 70mph spread out across eastern Colorado creating a large plume of dust.

caprockphotography > A beautiful but powerful leading edge of a severe thunderstorm approaches Sharon Springs, KS. Note the thick wall of dust in the lower part of the pic to the right of the sign being kicked up by winds in excess of 70mph. This is a classic definition of a "haboob".

Nevertheless, this supercell thunderstorm over Palo Pinto County, Texas was quite a beast offering a spectacular display.

caprockphotography > The "mothership" mesocyclone of a supercell thunderstorm hovers over Breckenridge, Texas with a large and ominous attendent wall cloud. I was so fortunate ot have gotten into the right postion at the right time onthis storm. This is one my personal favorites.

caprockphotography > SLCs...or "Scary Looking Clouds". This is a shot of a very turbulant, boiling shelf cloud that had passed overhead near Abilene, Texas. Often reported by the public as something dangerous, they are in fact harmless...if not mesmerizing to watch. However, they are often associated with a parent thunderstorm which IS producing severe weather not too far away.

caprockphotography > The only adjustments I made were some sharpening and saturation to the RAW image. This is exactly how these storm clouds looked near Amarillo, Texas. This spectacular display of colors lasted no more than about 5 minutes at it's peak shown here.

caprockphotography > Perhaps the most odd looking LP (low-precipitation) supercells I've ever seen near Tulia, Texas.
